(More customer reviews)A friend of mine introduced me to the wonders of Suave's "Wacky Watermelon Shampoo for Kids" over the summer. All it took was one sniff of the stuff to get my mouth watering. I was instantly overcome by the sweet, sugary aura of Fruit Roll-Ups. If I didn't know better, I'd say the manufacturer ground up real Fruit Roll-Ups and tossed bits of them into the shampoo. It smells that delicious.
The obvious problem here, if you haven't noticed it yet, is that its label explicitly states that it's FOR KIDS. In today's society (you know, the one full of self-conscious, insecure yuppies) most consumers would, upon learning this information, return the bottle to the shelf they found it on, frown momentarily, and then stick their noses high in the air and buy something more sophisticated, no matter how excited they were about this product prior to reading that terrifying part of the label that says it's FOR KIDS,. Some of the more severe head-cases might even buy it online later, use it daily, and then hide it when friends come over to avoid divulging the true nature of their shampoo. Their loss, I say. I, for one, don't concern myself with such disgusting labels that attempt to limit my power as a consumer.
This shampoo is too good to pass up, "for kids" or not. Suave's Wacky Watermelon doesn't only smell heavenly, it acts as conditioner and body wash as well as shampoo. For those of you too excited to count, that's three products in one. The best part about it (You mean there's more?!) is that it's friendly on the wallet, too. I got mine for the same price I'd get most regular Suave shampoos, which is a hell of a lot cheaper than any of the high-end stuff the aforementioned yuppies buy.
Some additional information about this product:
-It's tear free.
-This is an ophthalmologist tested formula. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds important.
-It's for EXTERNAL USE ONLY according to my bottle.
-There's a lizard on the front of the bottle that appears to be licking a slice of watermelon. This is a gross misconception. The back of my bottle clearly states that "A lizard uses its tongue to smell by sticking it in the air to catch different scents, and then pulling it back into its mouth!" in a DID YOU KNOW? factoid, implying the lizard on the front is, in fact, smelling the watermelon.
-Most importantly, this product is manufactured in the USA.
There's really no reason to pass up this delicious canister of cleansing soap. It does its job and smells fantastic. Thanks to the geniuses at Suave, I can now do what I've always dreamed of doing: wash my hair with Fruit Roll-Ups!
